A rained-out Saturday rematch again Marin was moved to a Wednesday night showdown at Morton Field in the Presidio less than 24 hours after the two-for-one Cinco De Mayo/Taco Tuesday.
In painful memory of the 2014 playoff game - same opponent, same field - Barbary Coast was slow to start, slipping to a 4-0 deficit at the end of the first half of play. After a speedy recalibration at halftime, Kevin "Shaolin" Nguyen put BC on the board with a cheeky between-the-legs goal. Marin immediately matched this effort with a goal off of the ensuing faceoff. The BC defense would hold, allowing for a 4 goal...

The third game of the season, the first in Sausalito this year, found BC comfortable at home with a convincing 13-5 win over CaliLove. Barbary kept control of the game from start to finish.
Key takeaways:
- The team is reportedly failing to meet Chris-Clark-levels of post-win reverie.

- Tom Jackson.

Eastbay held a close game with BC until the fourth quarter when Barbary pulled away for a 15 - 9 win over one of the league's newest additions.
The game was marked by hard-fought, team-oriented play with more than 10 BC goals being assisted. The record will reflect that Nick Richards assisted all of his own goals. Offensive highlights included 4 buckets from Matt Graupmann, another strong midfield showing by Logan Quinn, and a coldblooded Colin Short at attack.
Pat Connelly, Joe Zingone, and Connor 'Big Tree Fall Hard' Handy held the line on defense, providing ardent support to Tyler...

The BC ship has left port early in 2015 with three scrimmages already under the team's belt. The squad took a trip south to Santa Barbara for some quality beach time and sun-fueled lacrosse against UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly SLO, finishing 1 and 1 on the weekend.
Fast forward two weeks and Coast headed down to NDNU for a mid-afternoon encounter with the Argonauts who ultimately surrendered to BC after four quarters of competitive play.

On November 20, 2014, OLC hosted a fundraiser and, in standard form, the Barbary contingent was the last group to leave the 111 Minna Gallery and shut down the bar. Not to be overshadowed by the fact that BC donated more than any other team in the NCLA, Tom Jackson...

The end of October saw Barbary Coast and friends getting tropical at the 2014 Hawaii Lacrosse Tournament. BC rolled through the first two days of the journey, winning on and off the field by handing convincing losses to its first four competitors and swimming in lava flows. The squad advanced to the semis to play our SF neighbor Olympic Club, who would ultimately fall to the Wimmer juggernaut in the finals.
A great time was had by all on and off the field. Special thanks to Scott Atkinhammer and Michael Jennaro for handling all the logistics - it's awesome to just show up and play....

What makes a team?
Is it a catchy name- conjuring thoughts of past glory, steeped in history and tradition? Check.
Is it a flashy logo- a sigil under and around which comrades can rally their collective cries? Check (and now with a mustache!).
Is it some sexy sweaters- jerseys that balance comfort, performance, and 'ugly' style just so? Check... back later.
While all the above may help to project the image of a team, it is of course the 'mates that make a team. Countless times over the course of this 2014 season thus far, Barbary Coast has risen to the challenge and shown the meaning...

Barbary Coast kicked off its 2014 season (a campaign for which the retrospective Sports Illustrated commemorative video (with accompanying commemorative, limited edition hooded sweatshirt) has been tentatively titled "Road to Redemption") on a strong note this past Saturday, earning a 14-2 victory over San Francisco Lacrosse Club.
The team, fueled throughout by Brett "Magic Time" Heim's near perfect dominance on face-offs, came out hard and fast from first whistle (so this tardy reporter has been told) and kept on the pressure on its way to a truly complete victory. Quality play pervaded...
