2016 Lake Tahoe Lacrosse Tournament Wrap-Up

This summer Barbary Coast headed up to Lake Tahoe for the annual Lake Tahoe Lacrosse Tournament by High Sierra Lacrosse in Incline Village. BC came out firing on Friday, earning a 10-1 win over NCLA-based Palo Alto in the morning and a 14-4 win over Chico in the afternoon.  After shaking off Friday night's morning dew, BC squeezed out an 8-7 win over the SF-based Dub C in the quarterfinals on Saturday. The BC squad spent the rest of the afternoon taking runs with other teams put together by alma maters and friends of BC and enjoying some oat sodas in the sunshine. At midday Sunday Barbary...

Lake Tahoe Lacrosse Tournament Wrap-Up

This summer Barbary Coast headed up to Lake Tahoe for the annual Lake Tahoe Lacrosse Tournament by High Sierra Lacrosse in Incline Village.  BC came out hot on Friday, jumping out on the heavily-favored Adrenaline Tropics and beating them convincingly.  This key initial win was augmented shortly thereafter by a win over the Oregon-based Big Foot team, goals for everyone on the short field.  Saturday saw BC succumb to a very talented underdog, SD Shooterz from Southern California, in an early-morning game and again to well-oiled Olympic Club team in the afternoon.  Barbary enjoyed two more...

BARBARY COAST 2015 CALIFORNIA STATE CHAMPIONS

After wrestling the California trophy away from Olympic Club in a tight Northern California Championship game played in Sausalito, Barbary Coast had to best a final opponent before the trophy was wholly ours.  BC headed down to face the talented Beverly Hills Bucks in the CA State Championship held at Culver City High School in greater Los Angeles. BC started out with a bang, jumping out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter and keeping the Bucks well away from contention all the way to an 8-2 halftime score. BC played excellent defense with massive saves by Tyler Page, Matt Levy, and Mark...

Fast forward two weeks and Coast headed down to NDNU for a mid-afternoon encounter with the Argonauts who ultimately surrendered to BC after four quarters of competitive play. The team is enjoying a handful of newcomers this season who bring youth, talent, and depth to the BC ranks.  Worthy of mention is a more handsome,...

Hawaii Wrap Up

The end of October saw Barbary Coast and friends getting tropical at the 2014 Hawaii Lacrosse Tournament. BC rolled through the first two days of the journey, winning on and off the field by handing convincing losses to its first four competitors and swimming in lava flows.  The squad advanced to the semis to play our SF neighbor Olympic Club, who would ultimately fall to the Wimmer juggernaut in the finals. A great time was had by all on and off the field.  Special thanks to Scott Atkinhammer and Michael Jennaro for handling all the logistics - it's awesome to just show up and play....

Barbary Coast Represents at 2014 World Lacrosse Championships

BC was proud to support three of our own at the 2014 FIL World Lacrosse Championships in Denver this summer. Padraig O Laoghaire (MFA Paddy O'Learey) ran with a rowdy bunch of hooligans hailing from The Emerald Isle to represent Team Ireland. Bash brothers, or Los Hermanos de Bash, Mike and Joe Vila dialed it in with Team Mexico for a little South of Border action throughout the week. Max Tcheyan declined an invitation from Team Italy lacrosse, reports indicated a schedule conflict with preparations for Milan Fashion Week and "shoddy uniforms".
