Barbary Coast Cruises Past Palo Alto in Season Opener
BC opened up with a 14-4 win over the Palo Alto Ducks in the first game of the 2015 season.
The BC clan steps into 2015 with new jerseys, new helmets, and a host of new players. With so many new players it was tough to tell in advance what type of play would be seen in Game 1 of the new season.
True to BC principles the game was marked by a team effort with scoring spread across many players; domination at the face off X by Matt Rudow, Mike Vila, and Mike Kanach; hustle plays by midfielders between the lines; and hard nosed defense from Joe Zingone, Frank Cuneo, and stand out goalie play by Matt Levy. The game started with a Logan Quinn goal only a few seconds from first whistle and ended with a give-and-go goal by Carson ‘Big Parm’ Parmelee. Worthy of mention were goals by Terry Kennedy, speedy dodges by Kyle Jordan, and a fashionable Thomas Jackson. Tom Bendon was conspicuously absent.
The game was succeeded by beers and fried food at The Oasis Beer Garden in Menlo Park for both teams and a besotted evening in North Beach for a BC contingent. Pictured below are the Brothers Rudow mid-contest while Nick Richards is Nick Richards.
