2016 Lake Tahoe Lacrosse Tournament Wrap-Up
This summer Barbary Coast headed up to Lake Tahoe for the annual Lake Tahoe Lacrosse Tournament by High Sierra Lacrosse in Incline Village.
BC came out firing on Friday, earning a 10-1 win over NCLA-based Palo Alto in the morning and a 14-4 win over Chico in the afternoon. After shaking off Friday night’s morning dew, BC squeezed out an 8-7 win over the SF-based Dub C in the quarterfinals on Saturday. The BC squad spent the rest of the afternoon taking runs with other teams put together by alma maters and friends of BC and enjoying some oat sodas in the sunshine.
At midday Sunday Barbary fell 10-6 to a talented West Sunset (SF-based) team in a great semi-final game. Big shout out to our friends at Marin Lacrosse Club for their 8-4 victory over West Sunset in the Open Tournament finals Sunday afternoon! As always the Lake Tahoe tournament was one of most fun lacrosse-related events of the year for all and served as further confirmation that SF men’s club lacrosse is no joke – all of the 4 teams competing for the Open Tournament final have San Francisco as a homebase with both Open and Master’s tournament champions (Marin LC and Olympic Club) being talented NCLA competitors. We look forward to seeing each of these teams out on the field again soon.
Infinite thanks to Connor “Big Cat” Handy for coordinating housing for the team and to Kevin Nguyen for team unis and logistics. See everyone next year!
